There really isn't anywhere better to learn to swim in Colac. Our Swim and Survive program will teach your child, or yourself, vital life skills. Living in Australia we are surrounded by water. It's part of our lifestyle, so make sure you and your family are safe in and around the water.
We follow the progressive Swim and Survive program which is a comprehensive swimming and water safety initiative of the Royal Life Saving Society that seeks to increase the swimming and water safety skills of all Australian children in order to prevent drowning and increase participation in safe aquatic activity.
Wonder, Courage and Active
Wonder, Courage and Active have been chosen as the Swim and Survive program titles to reflect the hopes and aspirations of children and families as they embark on a lifetime of fun and safety in the water.
Each program is structured into skill strands that ensure a balanced, comprehensive instructional approach to a child's aquatic education.
A water familiarisation program for parents and their children aged 6 to 36 months.
A program that builds water confidence for preschool aged children between the ages of 3-5 years.
A swimming and water safety program for school aged children between the ages of 5-14 years.
How do I book my child into swim school?
Step 1 – Contact Bluewater to arrange your free 15-minute assessment to determine your child’s starting level.
Step 2 – With the level determined, Bluewater staff will process your enrolment and issue a membership card.
Step 3 – Children’s progress is monitored during the program, with assessment based on capabilities during regular class drills and skill sessions. When students fulfil criteria they receive a progress token to move up levels.
Step 4 – Students present progress tokens to the Bluewater service desk in exchange for a level award. Staff will arrange transfer into the next appropriate level.
